How much does NumberCrunch cost?
Our plans start from £49/month + VAT for start-ups, £69/month + VAT for the self-employed, and £99/month + VAT for limited companies. All fees are fixed — no hidden extras, no hourly billing. We'll give you an exact quote on your free consultation call.
Are there any hidden fees?
Absolutely not. Your monthly fee is agreed upfront and doesn't change without your knowledge and consent. We don't charge extra for phone calls, emails, or asking questions. Unlimited support is always included.
What's included in "unlimited support"?
Unlimited support means you can call, email or message us as often as you like — with no extra charge. Questions about expenses, tax planning, HMRC letters, dividends — all included in your monthly fee.
Can I change my plan later?
Yes. As your business grows or your circumstances change, we'll review your plan and adjust accordingly. We'll always discuss any changes with you first — nothing changes without your agreement.
Services
Do you handle payroll?
Yes. Payroll is included in the Limited Company plan (up to 2 employees) and available as an add-on for other plans. We handle RTI submissions, P60s, P11Ds, and auto-enrolment pension compliance.
Can you help with VAT?
Yes — VAT registration, quarterly returns, flat rate scheme advice, and digital MTD submission are all covered. We'll also advise on the most tax-efficient VAT scheme for your business.
Do you work with landlords?
Yes — we have specialist experience with rental income, Section 24 mortgage interest relief, capital gains tax on property disposal, and Making Tax Digital for landlords. If you own rental property, we can help.
Switching accountants
Is it difficult to switch from my current accountant?
Not at all — we handle the entire process. We contact your previous accountant on your behalf, request the transfer of all relevant records and information, and ensure there's no gap in service. Most clients are fully switched within a week.
What if I'm in the middle of a tax year?
You can switch at any point during the year — it doesn't have to be at the start of a tax year or accounting period. We'll pick up wherever your previous accountant left off and ensure a seamless transition.
Technology & software
What accounting software do you use?
We primarily work with FreeAgent and Xero — both award-winning, MTD-compliant cloud accounting platforms. We also use Dext for receipt and invoice capture. The software is included free in your monthly plan.
Do I need any accounting knowledge to use the software?
No. We set everything up for you and provide a brief walkthrough so you know how to use the basics — like photographing receipts and checking your dashboard. For everything else, we handle it on your behalf.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All your financial data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored on UK-based servers, and handled in full compliance with GDPR. FreeAgent and Xero are both ISO 27001 certified and subject to regular independent security audits.
Making Tax Digital
What is Making Tax Digital?
Making Tax Digital (MTD) is HMRC's programme to move tax record-keeping and submissions online using approved software. MTD for VAT is already mandatory for all VAT-registered businesses. MTD for Income Tax (MTD for ITSA) is being phased in from April 2026 for self-employed people and landlords.
Am I affected by MTD?
If you're VAT-registered, you're already in MTD. If you're self-employed or a landlord with income above £50,000, you'll need to comply with MTD for Income Tax from April 2026. We'll guide you through the transition with zero stress.
